Best Dearborn Museums
1. Henry Ford Museum
Visit the Henry Ford Museum and explore incredible American innovations from automobiles to airplanes, trains to electricity, and other fascinating artifacts of American history. This museum truly has it all. Some of my favorite exhibits include the Wright Brothers first airplane, the bus where Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat, and several Presidential vehicles. You can purchase tickets online or in person.
2. Greenfield Village
One of my favorite museums in Michigan, Greenfield Village is 80 acres of unique grounds that showcase the development of the United States. The grounds include experiences like a steam train, several houses of famous Americans, manufacturing buildings for textiles, glass, metal, and print, Thomas Edison’s workshop, and the Wright Brother’s bicycle store. What I love most about Greenfield Village is that you feel like you’re stepping into history with the immersive experiences of touring physical structures and witnessing volunteers bring the history to life. You can choose to purchase tickets for Greenfield Village only, or consider admission to both the village and Henry Ford Museum.

3. Arab American National Museum
Dearborn is home to the largest Arab American population in the United States. I highly recommend visiting the Arab American National Museum to learn more about their rich culture and history. It is the only museum in the US that is devoted to documenting and sharing economic, cultural, and political contributions of Arab Americans. You can choose to explore the museum on your own or participate in a guided tour.
4. Dearborn Historical Museum
The Dearborn Historical Museum explores the journey of Dearborn from the first human settlement to its current rich diverse culture. I love museums that take place within historical homes, and this museum offers three! The McFadden-Ross House, The Commandant’s Quarters, and the Gardner House. Be sure to check out their website for open hours of the museum before planning your visit.
Best Dearborn Restaurants
5. Al-Ameer
Al-Ameer is a family-owned restaurant offering incredible authentic and halal Lebanese food. They received a James Beard America’s Classics Award and have a wide variety on their menu including vegetarian options. I highly recommend trying the Al Ameer Specialty drink.

6. Sana’a Yemeni Cuisine
Sana’a Yemeni Cuisine offers large portions that you can share family-style. Offering more than your typical Lebanese restaurant in Dearborn, it’s a unique place to visit if you’re interested in trying Yemeni specific dishes. Their most popular entree is a slow roasted lamb that comes with rice, soup or salad.
7. The Himalayan Flames
The Himalayan Flames is another halal restaurant offering Indian, Nepalese, and Tibetan cuisine. They offer a large menu featuring chicken, lamb, goat, seafood, and vegetarian options. A great restaurant to try something new and there’s something for everyone.
8. Roman Village
One of Detroit’s oldest Italian-American restaurants, Roman Village offers many of your favorite Italian-American classics. Choose from paninis, subs, calzones, pizza, pastas, salads, soups, and more. Everything is made in house! Try one of their signature dishes like the Spaghetti Carbonara or Chicken Antonio.

9. Qahwah House
Qahwah House is a casual coffee shop offering Yemeni and Turkish coffee and tea. I highly recommend trying the Adeni Chai with Khaliat Alnahl dessert. It’s a delicious Yemeni pastry consisting of buttery cheese filled bread drizzled with honey. The perfect mix of sweet and savory!

10. Super Greenland Market
Before you head home, consider stopping at Super Greenland Market grocery store to pick up unique middle-eastern items. This large grocery store and market offers kitchen staples like rice and halal meat. You’ll also find some more unique items like spices, household items, and flowers.
11. Lebon Sweets
Anytime we have a chance to visit Dearborn, we always stop at Lebon Sweets. They have the best middle-eastern desserts like baklava and their unique take on kunafa. Known as the cheesedome dessert, kunafa cheese is sandwiched in sesame seed bread and drizzled with sweet syrup.
12. The Chocolate Bar
Located inside L.A. Bistro, this small candy store offers the most delicious Dubai chocolate bar. A home-made chocolate bar filled with pistachio and kataifi dough, it is divine. They offer small, medium, and large sizes. There are other chocolate bar flavors too like Turkish cotton candy cloud and s’mores. Other than their chocolate bars, they offer fruit shaped ice cream that looks almost too real to eat!
13. Ford Rouge Factory Tour
If you’re into cars and the history of Ford Motor Company, consider taking a tour of the Ford Rouge Factory. Get an inside look at the Ford Motor Company’s Truck Factory including their legacy gallery, electric trucks, and assembly line. The tour is a 5-part experience. Note that active assembly is not available on Saturdays and the tour is not offered on Sundays.
